VBS 2010 Time Transporter Days 4-5
DAY 4…Enthusiasm vs. Apathy Operational Definition: Enthusiasm is God’s energy in my spirit expressing itself through my mind, will and emotions. Enthusiasm is to be energized and inspired by God. Memory Verse: Titus 2:14 "…who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works." Scripture Stories: Saul on the road to Damascus ((Acts chapters 8, 9 & 22) Zeal before and after his conversion) Jonah (Jonah) Some Profound statements regarding Enthusiasm: Enthusiasm is the by-product of a life purpose worth dying for. Maintaining enthusiasm requires continuous fellowship with the Word of God and the Spirit of God. Enthusiasm is passionate devotion to the work of God.Enthusiasm is the secret energy of those who are truly successful. DAY 5…Love vs. Selfishness Human Video: Champion (Everyone) Operational Definition: Love is giving to the basic needs of others so that their authorities get the credit, God gets the glory, and we have the joy of eternal rewards. Love: is patient, is kind, does not envy, does not boast, is not puffed up, does not behave unseemly, does not seek its own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil, does not rejoice in iniquity, rejoices with the truth. Love never fails. Memory Verse: John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, will not perish, but will have eternal life. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth His own love toward us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
