Meet Ron
I accepted Jesus into my heart at 15 years of age, in a small Christian Church in Newhall, California, but never really had a relationship with Him. At age 34, I was told I had Prostate Cancer and my prostate was removed. We started going to Calvary Chapel Rialto, Ca. I was told it was a win/win by the assistant pastor... "If You die, you Know Jesus. Win. If you don't die, you get to be with your family. Win!" I gained a relationship with Christ and a new walk, a re-dedication. We ended up losing our house because of my sickness and moved back to Missouri. Brenda's (my wife) sister let us stay in her house. I was still sick. The doctors could not find what was wrong. Finally one doctor found I had thyroid cancer. The doctor removed it in March of 2001. About 6 months later, on a check up, they said the cancer was back. We went to the Mayo Clinic, consulted with the doctors, had more tests, and another x-ray. Mayo's Doctor asked me what was wrong and said, "Son you don’t have any Cancer. Joplin has bad x-ray equipment." We Praised Jesus all the way home! We know WHO heals! Praise Jesus!
Around July of 2010, I had gone in for my yearly testing. The doctor told me he would like to retest, thinking there had been a mistake. He retested me. He told me that the cancer was back, according to the results of the blood tests. The first test was raised a little bit. The second was a higher reading. The doctor sent me for a whole body scan. After I was finished, I was sent back to his office to retake the blood test a third time. Our (CC Joplin) Men's Prayer Team, Fellow Ushers, and Pastor Jeff Prayed with my wife and I that God would be glorified whatever the outcome. My final test's results came back with no reading, no cancer. The whole body scan also showed no cancer. Its not anything I do. It's all about what Jesus has done for us. I give God ALL the glory and praise.
Of course, I have to draw attention to one of the greatest gifts God gave me ,my wife Brenda Sue. We have been married since October of 1981. Brenda and I have two adult children: our daughter Jessica; and our son, Matt. My wife and I ride a motorcycle and do prison ministry with Bill Glass. We ride with the CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association). I have been serving as an usher at Calvary Chapel since 2000, and a deacon since 2006. I enjoy doing hospital visits and praying with and for people. I love serving my Lord however I can. Praise His Name!
