Congratulations!
You’ve just made the single most important decision that you’ll ever make, and let me encourage you in this; it was the right decision. Odds are you’re wondering, "Ok, I’ve clicked the link, now what? What do I have to do to be ‘saved,’ to be forgiven of my sin and made right in the sight of God? How do I accept Jesus as my Savior?"
It’s really simple; God has made it extremely easy. It’s essential first of all that you recognize the obvious, you’re a sinner. The bible is clear that every one of us, every human being (outside of Christ) who’s ever walked the planet has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Rom 3:23, "…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," but here’s the good news; there is a precious promise found in the Word of God that says this, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9. When the bible tells us to "confess" our sins, understand two things. Number one, who we are to confess to. We are to confess our sins to the One whom we’ve sinned against, namely God Himself. You need to confess that you’re a sinner, not to man, but to God. Number two, understand what confession is. We’re not talking about a simple consent that says, "Yeah, I did it…" When you confess to God that you are a sinner it means that you’re humbling yourself before God and coming into agreement with God concerning your sin. That even as God says that it separates you from Him and destroys your life, you agree with Him about that. Not only do you agree with Him, but you’re stirred to action to do something about it, that is, to turn from sin and to turn toward Him. You’ve been leading a life that pursues your will, you’re ready to turn from that and pursue God’s will for your life.
Are you ready to receive Jesus? Or maybe I should say are you ready to be received by Jesus…If so than simply cry out to God from the deepest place you can get to in your heart and pray a prayer even as simple as this:
"Lord Jesus…I’m a sinner. I have sinned and I fall short of Your standard of sinless perfection. I don’t want to make excuses for my sin, or somehow justify my sin, I just confess it, I agree with You about it and I want to turn from it. So, I’m asking You to come into my heart, to cleanse me of my sin and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Lord make Yourself real to me, make Your Word real to me, and help me to lead my life, all the days of my life from this day forward for You. Thank You for placing my name in Your book of life… Jesus, it’s in Your name I pray, amen."
"What Now?"
